HANGING BASKET FESTIVAL
OBJECTIVE: Redesign the branding for a flower festival for a small, family-owned farm in a way that exemplifies
the spirit of the festival and catches viewers’ attention.

Wordmark Sketching Exploration
The themes I wanted to incorporate were nature and community, so I heavily drew from the art nouveau movement, which was largely inspired by the beauty of nature. Several sketches also included a flower motif or “parts of a whole.”
Wordmark Refinement
I sketched a cleaner and more complete version, which I then uploaded into the computer to further refine. Rather than basing it off an existing typeface, I chose to start from scratch in order to not sacrifice any details or aspects of my original design.
Final Touchpoints
Leaning further into the art nouveau aesthetic, I developed a poster for the event which utilized drawings of various flowers and a framing element. I also created a billboard that integrates photography into the system and mocked up an Instagram page that uses an abbreviated wordmark for the profile picture.
